Iceland's fish catch increases by 5.5 pct year-on-year in
August 2014
ICELAND
REYKJAVIK - Iceland's fish catch increased 5.5 percent year-
on-year in August 2014, according to the statistics issued
on Tuesday by Statistics Iceland.
The statistics showed the total fish catch was 103,343
tons, including 20,304 tons of demersal, 81,578 tons of
pelagic and some shellfish, increasing by 5.5 percent
compared with 97,936 tons of fish catch in August 2013.
The total fish catch in the period between September 2013
and August 2014 was 1,080,329 tons, decreasing by 21.1
percent compared with 1,368,993 tons of fish catch in the
previous period.
